Then, we refinished the entire hardwood floor by sanding down to the raw wood. It was a difficult project, becuase the pervious finish was clogging the sandpaper really fast, and there were a lot of high boards that needed leveling.
All the gaps and nail holes were filled using red oak wood filler.
All the sanding was done using a dust containment system, to minimize the quantity of airborne dust.
After the sanding and buffing(for smoothness) were done, the floor was vacuumed.
Then, two coats of finish were applied, and oak shoemolding, finished to match the floor. |
